stat rosa pristina nomine, nomina nuda tenemus - english version

this verse, which is an adaptation of the original's Bernanrdo Cluniacense monaco wholived in the twelfth century "Roma pristine nomine, nuda nomine tenemus" inspires reflection on the way in which today the propaganda is acting for the media aberration. The literal translation  "ancient Rome exists only in name ..." highlights an objective content, Rome ... and its representation, and mental projection, ... no longer exists. In our occidental culture commonly we used to think, and luckily someone still does not remove the defect, starting from this report, the content / representation element that is the objective / subjective. Today, this dichotomy, certainly not necessarily absolute, is more and more often reduced to its mere "representation" if not invented by emptying a content that has lost its intrinsic value. So you can say it all represents something that is not necessarily real and never will be.
